The Youth Center for Dialogue and Peace (YCDP), in collaboration with the United Nations Institute for Training and Research (UNITAR), successfully concluded the Global Youth Summit for Change 2025, a four-day international gathering that convened more than 50 emerging young leaders from over 25 countries.
The summit, held from August 28–31, 2025, served as a platform for dialogue, collaboration, and innovation empowering youth to design solutions to global challenges in climate action, human rights, innovation, peacebuilding, and governance.
The opening ceremony took place at the United Nations Office in Geneva (UNOG) and featured distinguished speakers, including:
- H.E. Mr. Abdulla Abdullatif ABDULLA, Ambassador and Permanent Representative of Bahrain to UNOG
- H.E. Mr. Christophe Payot, Ambassador and Permanent Representative of Belgium to UNOG
- H.E. Mr. Alaa Mohamed Salaheldin Hegazy, Ambassador and Permanent Representative of Egypt to UNOG
- Ms. Roxana Widmer-Iliescu, Head of Digital Inclusion Service, International Telecommunication Union (ITU)
Their addresses underscored the crucial role of youth in global governance and the importance of inclusive dialogue in fostering peace and innovation.
A major highlight of the summit was the “Youth Solutions: 180-Second Segment,” where participants pitched innovative ideas on sustainable development and social impact from the UN floor. These brief but powerful presentations showcased the creativity and commitment of a new generation determined to create meaningful change.
